RT,
None of the "extra" items would be pulling current through any of the relays in question.
I know you are not the only oue out there who has relays running "hot".
If you replace the relays with brand new ones, you will be getting newer contacts in the relays, but for how long? Once ther contacts get a little pitted, burned, corroded etc, the heat will get worse.
Why don't you try this instead. Borrow a jewler's file to file the contacts on your relays first to see if the heat problem goes away or lessens.
I want to describe the procedure kind of like lapping in valve seats (bad example, but it is late) Stick the file between both contacts and file away using a little pressure on the "floating" contact. You will be filing both halves at the same time... not too much, just enough to clean them up. There is not a lot of room in them either.
I would try one first, and see what happens. if heat goes away, you can spend your $ there.
Don't forget to let us know how it went.
