Avoiding the need for the 'Jiggle Test'

I have achieved a great deal of flame trap success by driving a lot of highway miles, and changing oil religiously. My highest mileage cars have curiously been suction machines in terms of crankcase pressure. My "newest" (to me) car is not so good yet. It has gotten better already, after a few oil changes and some mountain biking trips with the A/C roaring, bike on the roof (extra work). Before me, the original owners only drove about 7k per year, mostly without leaving the 'burbs.

I use Castrol GTX, almost exclusively. Currently sampling Mobil's "Drive Clean" synthetic blend.
