700 series vs. 200 series

As the owner of two 745s (only 1 at a time, unfortunately), I would say you cna't go wrong with one of these. I have a couple of friends with 240s and I've found them to be noisier than the 700s. Also, they do rust more, and you just can't beat the 745's 74.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded. I've never had a problem with the height of the seats (I'm 5'8"), and the 700s have height adjustments for the driver's seat that can put it in a variety of positions. If you're concerned about handling, keep in mind that the 700 is a much better balanced car than the 200 in terms of front/rear and center of gravity, so if you even just stick an upper chassis brace in them you'll end up with a very good handling car. Thicker sway bars will go a long way. If you can find a 90s-vintage 945 turbo, I'd consider that to be the ultimate RWD Volvo.
