Gasoline often works really well, and it's readily available. It doesn't eat your skin that fast, though. For best results leave it on your hands until they dry out and crack. I usually use it to get adhesives (trim adhesive, foam tape, etc.) off of car finishes. If the paint is cracked/cracking, or the clearcoat is giving you problems, this isn't really the best avenue. If the paint is intact, then go for it.
Wash the gas off when you're done, with a HOT solution of detergent and water, or wax and grease remover if you can get some. That way you're assured not to harm it.
