If you haven't removed the instrument cluster, you:

1. Pull off head light and dimmer knobs

2. Remove plastic covers from both sides of the cluster. A right angle pick helps get in behind the covers and gentle pull them forward.

3. Remove four screws, one at each corner of cluster.

4. Remove drivers knee cover so you can access the back of the cluster.

5. Remove the speedo cable. If this is the first time, there's an interlock that discourages it removal but a pliers and/ screw driver will defeat it.

6. Pull the cluster out more on the right side and gently pull off the two harness connections. I emphasize gently decause a jerk or carless pry can distort the connectors. Weird dash lights result from distorting the ground wire on the half round connector. It's the black wire on the one end. Also remove connections for tach and small clock if used. There's also an orange wire plugs on its own connector.

7. Some times it's helpfull to remove the top cover behind the steering wheel. There's more clearance but its removal is not required.

8. Ease the cluster out. Turn the unit face down and remove the screws holding the pack panel in place. It seems like the speedo mounts from the inside and once the back panel is out, you pull the speedo off.

Good Luck
