I'm with George - well sorta - the 85 has dual sealed beams - I just scavenged some used H4 set-ups..so cheap I can't even remember how much. Put some new bulbs in. Whammo. The highs aren't H1's, they are just top of the line 7.85US$ sealed beamer - DAMN good light for high speed very dark country roads.
Daniel Stern and all the lighting guru's are smart cookies and I totally agree the antiquated US lighting "laws" suck - but the line must be drawn somewhere as far as dollars in front photons vs. value of the car.
