Agree with John -- Tach goes to zero.

Do you have a Bentley manual? It's got a nice diagnostic section for a failed Hall sensor. I used it in a motel parking lot during a vacation two summers ago. Big PITA because we had to wait two days for the part to be shipped out from Boston, so we had to rent a stupid Dodge POS to continue with the vacation. Sorry for the rant... check out the Bentley procedure...
