Thank you very much, Steve. Diesel Kiki appears as the compressor for the car at www.airkits.com The Seltec compressor I received from Swedish Engineering is for R134, and www.seltec.com lists it as filled with 150 ml of PAG oil. Texaco sells a highly regarded "ester" oil for R12 and R134 compressors. I would probably be safe if I empty the compressor and fill it with the 200 ml bottle of "ester" oil in the Volvo conversion kit I have, but I want to be safe rather than sorry. I will go through Volvo TSB. Monday, I will contact www.seltec.com regarding type and quantity of oil for their compressor, and a Volvo parts man regarding compressor that goes in the car and replacements. Hopefully, I will know what to do when more parts arrive during the week.
BTW, I have a story for you. The 760T had three wheels in Valhalla about a year ago. So I bought the 960. Then, I discovered 700/900 FAQ trying to solve 960 AT problems with flashing ESW shifter indicator lights and orange warning arrow in the instrument panel. Well, I solved that and other problems with the 960 using information in 700/900 FAQ, posts and even archives. Reading 700/900 FAQ, I started to fiddle with the 760T. Bear in mind, all I had done to it in ten years was change spark plugs. The car regularly fouled these in short order and the engine always ran rough, loud and without power, like a truck engine. I had taken the car to mechanics many times, but they found nothing. Following 700/900 FAQ, I have made the engine run clean, smooth and powerful. Last night, I put in it a Dawes device set to around 10 psi. Today, my wife drove to Walmart and came home telling me the car scared her several times because she could not hear or feel the engine, and kept looking to the instrument panel to see whether the car died on her.
Best regtards.
