Warm start problem!! (Car - 1984 240 turbo)
I can’t find the problem, so I figured posting a message at brickboard could only help.
Problem:
If I let my car sit for more than 10~15mins after driving it, when I come back to start the car, the following will happen: the car starts, the idle will than surge up and down, you can feel a rough idle, than the car stalls out. If I apply gas during the warm start, the car will than start, but I need to apply gas for approximately 5 seconds. Once the car is going, everything runs great. Cold starts are fine, no problems there.
What I have done. Checked all vacuum lines, replaced o2 sensor, about 5000 miles ago changed out cap, plugs, rotor, fuel filter, replaced fuel relay, checked air filter, adjusted fuel/air mixture, new timing belt, cleaned throttle body, replaced injector seals.
Possible problem:
I’ve noticed my ignition coil resistance when the car is warm exceeds Bentley’s specs
Primary – 3.0 ohms (should be 1.9 +/- .1 ohms)
Secondary – 1300 ohms (should be 9500 +/- 1500 ohms)
Could this be the problem, could the ignition coil cause a warm start? Is there anything else I can check?
