I took the car to GoodYear this morning and they are going to replace the bearing on 740 - you are right on the money with that one.
The 940: I don't think it has anything to do with the suspension - it happens when you drive and make a left turn (turning the steering wheel). the steering wheel has a resistance in one point - it feels like you would be hitting a rubber plug (don't know how to describe it better) and you have to make an effort to get past this resistance point.
