leaking around the water pump

I am a new volvo owner, actually just had my car, a 1987 240,
a week. I have looked for a 240 for years, in my price range. The
body is excellent, as is the interior. I spoke to the mechanic that
worked on the car, and he suggested a timing belt and front seals be
replaced. I have also noticed some seapage, or moisture on the radiator,
and a small amount of coolant coming the hose to the waterpump. I plan on
getting the belt, seals replaced immediately. Any ideas on the other, how
serious this is, etc?
