Test Protocal for Hall Effect Sensor 700 1988

I Have an 88 740 non turbo wagon and the car won't start. I have replaced the coil, power stage, impluse relay, plugs, wire set, cap and rotor. I tested the coil output through the coil to distributor wire by placing a spark plug in the end of the wire and grounding the negitave side of the coil. The spark at the plug was very weak and intermitent. I would like to know if there is a test protocal for the Hall Effect Sensor. I don't want to replace it if it is good.
