a turbo into a n/a?

a) you neglected to mention the model

b) BAD BAD idea. Turbos have a rather low compression, without the turbo you will have a dangerous slug. Even Volvos need some acceleration.

c):
You could get a NA head, pistons, etc - but me thinks it would be smarter just to find a good used turbo (if possible) or better, pony up and buy a nice fresh rebuild (or center cartridge)....or even best if your's isn't cracked have it proffesionally rebuilt and balanced for about $500.

The rest of your post is pretty funny. You say you'd be willing to take the exhaust manifold out.....yet the intercooler is a "big job" to take out! (this leads me to think that replacing a center cartridge is NOT a job for you)

Your post just is not logical, I didn't say it's a BAD question, it just sounds dangerous. Your ECU is the least of your worries.
