If you can find any catalogs from the early '70s, they're funnier still. Xeroxed copies with one staple in the upper left corner. Prices weren't shown - the pricelist was updated every so often and you'd get catalog updates that were to hold you over until the next 'real' catalog came out. Very few photos - most of the products were hand drawn. I don't know about you, but I'd have a hard time buying an alloy wheel that was shown sketched onto the page...
Then again, the first generation "ipd - Portland Oregon" valve covers are pretty cool...
