How should I get a stuck glove compartment open? 700

Mom's glove compartment is stuck shut in the closed position. The thing looks all sealed up with no way of getting any pry tool in the cracks around it. Not sure what caused it. The knob turns but it does open. I didn't see anything in the manual about how to fix it. Anyone do this repair successfully? -- Thanks, Bruce
