Radio swap from hell - long post - sorry 700

I have an 87 740 GLE donor car (blown headgasket - that's it) (for sale as a great parts car if you live in or close to Virginia Beach) with a TD-6141 head unit, factory amp and the Volvo equalizer. Everything works fine. I also have a 90 740 GLE 16V (Belgian made) wagon, with what I thought was a similar radio set up (same model number - but...) This radio doesn't work, although the clock function does. Although these radios have the same model number, they are completely different in the way they are wired. The '87 radio has five wires in a bundle going into a "universal" square connector, with a sixth single yellow wire going to a single yellow wire connection that mysteriously appears from the bowels of the car. Amp plug and equalizer plugs are DIN - easy. The '90 has a 14-terminal rectangular plug with totally dissimilar colors (eg: RED is the power antenna lead, as opposed to the "industry standard" blue). I have looked everywhere except in an official Volvo manual (kept under Funk and Wagnall's porch) to try to figure out the corresonding colors, to no avail. I have been successful in getting the 87 radio to power up in the 90, and can hear faint sounds from the amp (proving tuner, tape work fine), but I know it is not wired correctly. Can anyone provide me with correct wiring info? It's driving me crazy!!!!! Thanks.
