240 front spindle differences

I am now aware of 3 different spindle sizes on 2 series Volvos . Later larger spindle in 82 and on ,I think . Then there were the 2 early ones , and here is my question , I am rebuilding front struts to go in my 83 Ti and happen to have 2 from an 80 244 with short hubs ,1 1/2" from back of wheel flange instead of 2" . Will I run into any trouble putting earlier struts on my 83 ? I am thinking about brake calipers , wheel offset, things like that.
