First and foremost, I apologize for my own language that seems to exist between the quotes in this post. I hope you can see the trees for the forest...or is it the forest for the trees? Anyway...
I have noticed for some time now a good deal of "shimmying" feedback in the steering wheel under LIGHT braking. If I lean on the brakes a little more it lessens. It is not entirely related to braking, however, it seems to have this same "shimmying" feedback at low idling type speeds.
Additionally, the 740 seems to pull to the left pretty agressively. I had the front end realigned a while back and the tech (whom seems pretty trustworthy) informed me that everything in the front end seemed pretty tight.
Also, maybe related (I don't know), I might have a rack going out. When cold the steering is very hard. This get's easier as the car warms up, but also seems to king of "break loose" and turn smoother after a short while. There is a sort of "hitchy" feel in the wheel. It seems as if there are a few points of resistence in there somewhere.
Any thoughts here? Trends for 1990 740GL Wagons?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
