antenna mast 744 700 1988

Hi. I hope someone can help.

I have the entire power antenna assembly out of the car and mostly disassembled for cleaning.

I have a replacement mast with plastic actuating strip from Scan-Tech, but no instructions.

The antenna slides down into the metal tube. The tube is attached to the black plastic housing.

How do I get the antenna out of the unit?
Does the metal tube come apart from the black plastic housing?
