ALL THESE BRAKE CHOICES-your ADVICE please

I need to do brakes on front of car SOON,so here goes: when replacing front rotors and pads-I'm confronted with choosing between OEM and better: meaning cross-drilled and slotted/grooved rotors. Reading posts here about 700 series cars having brakes considered a weak point on car,I would like to upgrade. I'm a hard driver ,as many of you are,and use the brakes to the max. I'm hearing also that the cross-drilled and the slotted EAT brake pads up FASTER!NOTE: car is 1991-740-b234-N/A w/girling:11.25" vented rotors.Also when shopping for above items= IPD: very overpriced! FCP GROTON:very fair prices.IS there someone on west coast(CALIF) with grotons prices and quality? thanks all in advance! BE doing job this next holiday weekend if I order soon enough.mark
