Should I buy 92 240?

Sounds reasonable but I am unfamiliar with 240 prices in US (assuming that's where you are). I have a similar vintage and she has been relatively trouble free in 6+ years. She had one owner before and has travelled about 90k km mostly around Sydney.

From memory, a/c compressor has been replaced, retrofitted for R134A gas, starter motor replaced and solenoid switch in Auto (wouldn't engage OD 4th - part expensive) and not much else apart from regular maintenance and consumables. This last of the 200 series is a different, much more refined Volvo to others I have owned (1975 244DL, 1979 242GT, 1981 244GL), down to double sealing around doors; they still close like a vault!

I can recommend it, especially if you can get it repaired and the wheels re-aligned at little cost; there could be suspension damage. Also check the engine mounts after what sounds like a heavy impact.
