Need quick advice on purchase 900 1997

I found a 1997 960 Wagon with 42,000 miles on it. It has the V-6 in it I hear so many bad things about. The car appears to be in good condition, but I am hesitant to purchase because of the many engine problems I hear about. Are there any other things I should be aware of with this model?
