i appreciate all the great advice you volvo lovers gave me on my last question about purchase advice. i've come across a '74 164E in really good condition and my only reservation about it is the price. the current owner's rock bottom price is $3500. here are the details about the car:
- NO RUST
- 109k miles
- original volvo radio
- overdrive works
- cruise control works
- leather is worn but not torn
- it has been kept up well, the current owner did a full overhaul when purchased, incl. timing belt, air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, tires
- no accidents
- runs great
- passes new york inspection (i live in virginia, but i don't imagine the requirements would be that much different)
- deep maroon (burgundy) - original paint is shiny and waxed
- there is a slight hole in exhaust, but not loud
again, the current owner is willing to go down to $3500, since they still owe a lot of money on the car apparently, and they would sacrifice a month's payment of $200 to bring it down to that price. this is a lot of money for me, and although i know 164s are relatively rare and coveted, i don't know if i should wait for another one. i'm attaching a picture of the car. thanks in advance for all your comments, i appreciate it!
