Car is dead!

A gallon of gas isn't very much, and if you ran it clear out, it will take
a LOT of cranking to get it started, probably. You don't give year or model,
carbs or injection, which will make a difference.
If your battery is weak you need to either jump it or charge your battery.
After you drive it home you need to get a voltmeter and see if your charging
system allowed your battery to go down. (Should be 13.5-14 volts when
running).
I'd get a hot battery and about 3 more gallons of gas in it and see what
happens.
