bulb failure sensor is killing me!

As may have said before, you should do two things:

1) Thoroughly, clean bulb contacts.
2) replace bulbs with a matched pair of brand-name bulbs (Volvo OEM, OSRAM, etc.)

These should solve 99% of the bulb failure light problems.
