Before you attack, prepare! The "nipple" that holds the flame trap becomes brittle over time. I just bought one from the dealer yesterday: $2.56, p/n: 3501707-8. The flame trap was $3.14 p/n: 1389657-6 so for just under $6, I did not have to worry about being gentle, I just reached under and pulled.
