780 Bertone rear shocks

If it happens to be an 87 model with the solid rear axle, then you may or may not have the Nivomat shocks, but the good news is that you can easily convert to "normal" shocks, simply by changing to conventional springs and installing the rear shock of your choice.

If you have an 88-91, then you have multilink rear suspension, and the only shock made that will even bolt on are the Nivomats. If you want to convert, you have to find springs (not a standard Volvo item) and fabricate some sort of lower shock mount, or modify your new shocks. There is a write-up in the 700/900 FAQ on the BB about Jon Belmont's conversion of his car if you're interested.
