The Token Ring Man's advice is good. The OD piston seals may be due for replacement. Go to the 700/900 FAQ and see Duane Hoberg's section on the overdrive. Before trying to remove the overdrive, set the parking brake and firmly stall the engine out with the clutch while the transmission is in reverse. This takes the load off the splined shaft which turns the overdrive internal components.
