I'm getting more serious about my search for a 164.
Looking at one which is not running. Owner says it's the fuel injection computer, and they know it's bad because the fuel pump doesn't run unless they route a wire directly from the battery to the pump (bypassing the computer).
I have a rough schematic of the 164's fuel system in my super-lame Chilton's manual. Looks like they could be right --- there are no relays or fuses to speak of. Just a line from the battery to the computer and from the computer to the fuel pump. If the pump doesn't work unless the wire bypasses the computer, it's got to be the computer. I would think.
How tough is it to get a replacement computer and R/R the one that's in there? What kind of money am I looking at, and how much time?
