Ross: a previous post a month or two ago was by someone who was doing the same job, who found out that there were either 2 OR 3 different racks (ZF, Cam, and TRW, I believe), each of which had brand-specific connections (tie-rod ends, whatever). Can't help with the swap from one type of Volvo to another, but if it is possible, you face the above parts-ordering dilemma.--PD.
