When I shift into 1st gear and from 1st to 2nd, the shifter catches a bit before going into gear. Shifting into 3rd and from 3rd to 4th is smooth. The clutch is fully depressed when shifting. It seems to be more pronounced when the car is cold......less after a few minutes warm up. Also, the clutch engages at a point which seems too high up in its travel. No clutch slippage, however.

I have changed the gearbox oil and cleaned the filter. Actually, what came out didnt seem all that dirty. No change. The clutch cable looks fine, but could be stretched. I have no idea how old it is. Suggestions?????Thanks in advance for any input.
