cold start stalling problem solved 200 1987

For years when the engine is cold my 87 240 has almost always stalled twice before starting. I lazily wrote this off to just being a kind of old car. Other than the stalling the car ran fine, it was no big deal.

Flash back: Several years ago the infamous 25 amp spade fuse holder melted and a mechanic put in a new one by twisting the wires together - no solder, no crimped connectors (he did use electrical tape). I never gave it any thought but for fun yesterday I soldered the connections.

Bam!! The car starts up immediately!! Runs better too; got rid of some little low speed hesitations and the idle smoothed out.

I guess the point is even if you don't think you have any problems it's worth cleaning up the electrical stuff.
