getting it started after long sit 140-160 71

This weekend I am purchasing a 71 142S.

It hasn't been started in about six months.

there is a chance that it will fire right up - and there is a chance that it won't.

Can anyone give my a rundown of a good proceedure for starting a car that has been sitting for a long time that will insure the least amount of damage to it?

Also, a list of junk to take along.

Spare fan belt

starting fluid

etc..

thanks!
