How do you replace dash lights? Very carefully!!

Probably the easiest way is to remove the dash cluster. The warning lights are accessible on the backside of the printed circuit board; they're in twist-out sockets. As I remember, they're little black knobs lined up along the bottom of the PCB.

Here's an approximate procedure to remove the dash cluster:

- Remove the headlight and instrument light knobs.

- Pop out the plastic panel.

- Remove 2 screws holding a metal bracket in and remove the bracket.

- Remove the two screws holding the dash cluster.

- On the right side, remove the clock bezel (if your clock is there) or the blank 2"x2" panels, upper and lower. (They pop out.)

- As on the left side, remove the two screws holding the cluster.

- Carefully pull out the cluster; often it is "pinched" on the top and bottom.

- Unplug various wires and harnesses. It might be wise to sketch what connectors plug in where. (Although I don't think you can make an error when you replug everything, sometimes you can "lose" a wire in the rat's nest behind the cluster, and that's annoying.)

- You can slide the cluster out sideways -- it just fits between the steering wheel and the dash.

- Replace bulbs as needed.

- To reassemble, reverse above steps.
