I was triumphant last night in completing an automatic transmission to manual transmission conversion and I thought I'd write to brag and thank those who helped. Having the knowledge of going through it one time, I'm sure that the entire job could be done in four hours as was suggested to me before I began. Driveshaft had to be swapped. Starters the same. Neutral safety switch was an easy jump out - there are five wires going to the automatic tranny - three for reverse lights and two which are the same color. Just solder those two together and there you have it. Clutch pedal assembly was straight forward. There's a factor hole in the firewall for the clutch cable and I was unable to unearth the factor holes in the frame for the manual crossmember. An excellent job and quite rewarding. Anyone who's considering such a task is welcome to pick my brain. Thanks to all who offered advice. Next project: P1800 rear end.
