Control Pressure Regulator Wiring

I'm having to replace a lot of the wires in an '80 244. The connector for the control pressure regulator is bad, and I can replace it with one from an older engine I have - it's in good shape. However, the ground wire and the wire to the auxiliary air valve in the crummy one and the good one are reversed. Does it matter which wire comes from which terminal of the regulator? Intuition says no, but I'd rather not bet on my instincts.
