What year, model and engine do you have? Before troubleshooting any driveability problem it is important to ensure that you have the maintenance itmes looked after: good plugs, wires, cap , rotor etc, timing right on, good fuel and air filter and yes of course a clean throttle body.

Yes, AMM could be cause but you have no reason to suspect that yet. I think a bad AMM however would cause other symptoms at idle as well if it were bad.
