We would appreciate your help in diagnosing an ac problem. Our ac would not work. Our clutch does turn by hand. We jumped the low pressure switch but still no go. So we check for power to the switch...none.
We checked the rotary switch in the car ....no leads with any power. Hoping to find the power disruption between the rotary switch and the ac fuse we checked the ac delay relay. The relay has a red, black, green, yellow with blue stripe wires leading to it. With car running the yellow with blue stripe is the only lead with power. If I jump that lead to the green the clutch does go on. I had an extra relay so I changed it and the result was unchanged. I don't know whether both relays are bad or whether some component like the ac rotary switch might be bad and in some way responsible for the relay needing to be jumped to get the clutch to engage. Does the power go to the delay relay first or to the rotary switch. Or is this more complicated than that. I am told the delay relay keeps the ac off for 10 seconds initially. Thanks in advance for any help
