Hi fellow brickters,
My mechanic tells me that the exhaust pipe joint at the exhaust manifold from the silencer(underneath the driver's side - we drive on right hand side) has cracked on the inner surface and no way it can be welded back. This is causing a quite a bit of sound. After sourcing for a brand new joint, I realised that it would cost me a dent in the wallet to buy a brand new joint. This is the joint between the exhaust manifold and the silencer (where the Cat is - or should). So made a visit to junk yard and found an affordable replacement. But one glitch. The one I found is from the B230F Volvo 940. Mine is B234F Volvo 940GLE 1991. Furthermore, this guy is selling together with the Cat and OS2 sensor with complete wire.
My current setup is that there is no Cat in the car- only a silencer in place of the Cat and no OS2 sensor either. The ECU on the car says its Bosch, Jetronic, 0 280 000 911. My AMM number is 0 280 212 021.
So can anyone out there let me know whether I can fix the joint which comes with the Cat and the OS2 in my car? Or is the joint shape is totally different and won't fit at all? We in Malaysia use unleaded fuel so I think it won't kill the OS2.
Thanks in advance for all the feedbacks.
