I have a no start on a 85GLE non turbo. I've checked almost everything I can think of, I had a bad TPS, replaced it, the AMM may be bad, but it's getting spark and fuel, (fuel pumps pretty good after regulator) so it should run even if rough. I'm looking at the wiring, sad shape, so I'm am going to start replacing wires, one by one, no money left for wiring harness, (+$280).
The one thing I noticed is that I'm not getting any voltage at fuse #13, After removing fuse, there is no voltage across the connections. It says this is for idle control, I'm guessing IAC, could this be reason for no start? It turns over, kicks sometimes, but doesn't run. It seems to crank, then hit and stop, as though hitting a compression wall of some kind. Could I have jumped some teeth in timing belt?
Other question, does the wiring harness start under the suspension tower, toward the firewall at two plastic plugs? Is that where I would start new wire, or further back? Any advice appreciated.
