Go here to Gus Mahon's web site. It has a detailed description of the wastegate controller. This is a guy who runs mid 12's in the quarter with an Acclaim and mid 13's with a minivan.

Peruse this site first, then come back with questions.

BTW, make small adjustments first. Start with it set so you can blow through it. Then go a quarter to a half turn from there. You don't want to start off with super high boost and blow your engine.

BTW2, Have you checked ALL the intake manifold and vacuum hoses for splits or cracks? Do you have a Nissens 3 row radiator?
