I need help to once and for all sort out a starting problem on my 760GLE Auto saloon (1990. I have had several professionals including Volvo look at it but no solution. I have had the alarm temporarily disconnected to exclude that as the problem but my car will not start when hot. I mean not start as in appearing to be completely immobilised - ignition lights on but when key is turned...nothing) The auto electrician (he couldn't find the exact problem but gave me a sort of way round) connected a length of cable to the starter motor. Now when the car will not restart I can open the bonnet extend the cable and when I put the cable to the positive of the battery it will fire up and run no problem. I have read lots of questions on this but think my problem may be slightly different. Please help me to start the engine by the turn of a key and stop make me look like I am "hot-wiring" it!
PS. To Peter M - I am in Skegness, Lincs.
760 GLE, 17" Antera 143 wheels, Mega Pioneer stereo, Clifford alarm and TAROX Discs/pads on the front - You say you are having them put on too, you have made a good choice.
