engine noise!!! Help! 200 90

Hello board,

I have this knock knock knock knock noise coming from the engine compartment. It seems to be coming from every place, including the drive shaft near the rear end housing.

Im using my stethoscope. Its seems that the engine needs to run a while before this noise starts.

An interesting development: I disconnected the belts from the power steering pump and the a/c compressor. The noise went away.

Now Ive reconnected the a/c compressor and the noise returns, but not as loud. Now If I reconnect the p/s pump and the noise returns to its original volume, what am I to make of it.

Is it possible that the pull from these 2 belts can cause noise at the crankshaft, or its pulley, or is it more likely that the problem is with the accessories or mountings. Note: there is quite a bit of movement at the p/s pump, but i couldnt see that it was knocking against anything.

I was almost convinced that it was a rod bearing, but now...?

Thanks
