When I pulled the distributor from my wife's '83 to replace my POS Chrysler unit, it took about 3 evenings of effort, lots of PBlaster, and some sore back muscles. Just unbolt, spray with PB, and start working. I used a screwdriver in the adjustment slot to kind of work the body back and forth, and eventually I ended up standing on the engine and yanking. I don't know if this was caused by not adjusting the distributor for a long time or what.

The Chrysler distributor popped right out of my car with no special effort.

Maybe you'll get lucky.
