Engine Trouble 700 1986

I found rust on the oil dipstick, lots of it. There appears to be water in the oil. The pressure in the coolant system builds up to the point that the hoses stretch out and look like they are about to burst after ten to fifteen minutes of driving. The engine got pretty hot a few days ago because the water pump let go and all the coolant drained out. I replaced the water pump, then found the water on the dipstick. What should I look for here, a blown head gasket, a cracked piston, or what? If it is a head gasket I can fix it. If it is a piston that will be too big a job for me to tackle.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jim
