Clutch return spring 700 85

Boarders....I was under the ole gal today doing an oil change and adjusting my clutch cable (non hydraulic) and free play since I've been slipping lately when acelerating in third & forth gears mostly.

I was looking at my Haynes manual and noticed that my model should have a return spring on the clutch fork.

I saw none there when adjusting freeplay etc.Does my yrs model have one?

If so where would the other end of the return spring hook too? The clutch fork and where?

If not replaced what type of damage would I likely encounter?
