This might be a rather basic question, so apologies for my ignorance in this matter. I have an 1800 with a B20 non fuel-injected engine. The previous owner recommended using SAE30 weight oil for the engine. Upon researching this further, I find that (at least according to Bill Webb's book, "Swedish Iron"), the recommended oil weight for general driving conditions is 20W-40 or 20W-50.
The car is scheduled for an oil change, which I'll do in a few days. But if I change over to the correct, recommended oil weight, will this affect my car negatively?
Thanks.
