I FALL INTO THE NOT SO DUMB CHICK CATEGORY. I HAVE A MYSTERY GAUGE ON MY 87 760 TURBO --- TOP LEFT DASHBOARD. THE PHOTO LOOKS LIKE A BATTERY NEXT TO IT BUT THE BOOK SAYS THE GAUGE IS ONLY USED IN TURBO'S BUT THAT'S ALL IT SAYS ABOUT IT. IN COLD WEATHER THE GAUGE TAKES FOREVER TO GET INTO THE SAFE RANGE (10-16 I BELIEVE) AND IF YOU TRY TO RUN THE CAR WHILE IT'S OUT OF THAT RANGE YOU GET STRANGE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, THINGS LIKE TURN ON THE BLINKER AND THE HEADLIGHT STARTS FLASHING BUT NOT THE BLINKER. WHEN IT'S IN SAFE RANGE, THE CAR'S FINE.
NEXT, THE FUSE FOR THE HEATER BLEW. I WENT TO MICKEY MOUSE THE MECHANIC AND HE SHOWED ME WHERE THE FUSE MELTED IT'S HOUSING SO HE PULLED THE FUSE BOX AND WIRED UNDER IT WITH ANOTHER FUSE. IN DOING SO, MICKEY CUT THE WIRES FOR RADIO, HORN, SEAT, ETC. IT WAS RUNNING OK BUT THEN..........
I GO TO START MY CAR A FEW DAYS LATER AND IT DOESN'T EVEN START TO TURN OVER (BATTERY IS NEW). I TURNED THE KEY OFF AND TRIED AGAIN AND IT STARTED WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL.
AND THEN TODAY. TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS AND THE WIPERS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED AND VOILA! THEY JUST STOP IN MID-SWIPE. THEN THEY START AGAIN. THEN THEY STOP AGAIN. WHAT DO I DO OTHER THAN FIND A NEW MECHANIC?
