Mike,

That comment was not originally mine. It was posted in response to another person's request for information and I copied it for my files. I reposted it here today in response to the question earlier. I had the same question about grounding the coil and it was suggested that I insert the spark plugs in the plug boot and ground them as a bundle, which seems like a good idea. As far as the fuel issue I would guess you have the right idea there as well.

I don't run compression checks very often myself, but I do like to monitor the overall condition of the engine and of course compression is a critical factor. I would say I do it about once a year on my vehicles and then record it in my records to check against in the future.
