Check the 700/900 FAQ for procedure on "hot wiring" fuel pump(s) to verify operation. Sounds like pumps and/or relays. You can re-solder relays to fix.

Also check fuel pressure regulator. I have removed the vacuum hose from the manifold, and sucked real hard on the hose. Gasoline taste indicates bad FPR.
